KVIC achieves remarkable 332% sales growth, records turnover of Rs. 1.34 lakh crore

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) sets new milestones, creating jobs and promoting indigenous products.

New Delhi: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has achieved an extraordinary milestone by registering a remarkable 332% sales growth in the span of nine years, resulting in a staggering turnover of over Rs. 1.34 lakh crore, announced the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. Additionally, KVIC has created an impressive 9.54 lakh new jobs in rural areas.

According to the ministry’s statement, the turnover of Khadi and Village Industries products was Rs. 31,154 crores in the financial year 2013-14. However, it has since reached its highest level at Rs. 1,34,630 crores in the financial year 2022-23, marking an unparalleled achievement in the organization’s history.

The ministry further emphasized that KVIC has also made significant strides in rural job creation. With the creation of 9,54,899 new jobs, KVIC has empowered individuals in rural areas and contributed to their economic well-being.

Chairman Manoj Kumar attributed this remarkable accomplishment to the inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as the unwavering dedication and hard work of artisans in remote villages across the country.

Kumar highlighted the crucial role played by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting Khadi on various platforms within India and internationally, which has propelled Khadi to new heights of popularity. Today, Khadi products are recognized as one of the most trusted brands globally.

During the period from the financial year 2013-14 to 2022-23, KVIC witnessed a notable increase of 268% in the production of Khadi and Village Industries products, while sales soared by an impressive 332%, breaking all previous records. Kumar stated that this achievement serves as proof of the growing trust of the Indian population in the “Make in India,” “Vocal for Local,” and “Swadeshi products” initiatives.
