
Sashidhar Jagdishan was reappointed as managing director and chief executive officer of the company for a term of 3 (three) years with effect from October 27, 2023, to October 26, 2026 by HDFC Bank, the largest private lender, on Tuesday, September 19.
Sashidhar Jagdishan will be reappointed by the RBI as the bank’s MD and CEO for another three years, starting on October 27, 2023, and ending on October 26, 2026.
Sashidhar Jagdishan has approximately 31 years of total banking expertise. In addition to being a Chartered Accountant by trade, Jagdishan possesses a Bachelor of Science in Science with a focus in Physics and a Master of Science in Economics of Money, Banking & Finance from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. In 1996, he started working for HDFC Bank as a Manager in the Finance department. In 1999, he was appointed Business Head – Finance, and in 2008, he was named Chief Financial Officer.
“He (Jagdishan) played a critical role in supporting the growth trajectory of the Bank, and led the finance function with a pivotal role in aligning the organisation in achieving the strategic objectives over the years. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, he was the Group Head of the Bank in addition to overseeing the functions of Finance, Human Resources, Legal & Secretarial, Administration, Infrastructure, Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility,” said HDFC Bank in a stock exchange filing.
