HCL signs 5-year Digital Workplace Services Agreement, bags Airbus software contract

The Shiv Nadar-promoted software services company, HCL Technologies (HCLT), today said it has won a mandate from Airbus Industrie for the development of embedded software for the system data acquisition computer of the A-340 flight warning system. Noida-based HCL Technologies (HCL) on Thursday said that it has signed a five-year digital workplace services agreement with Airbus.

HCL was selected as Airbus’ preferred partner as it was able to offer the broadest combination of standard functionality and innovation capabilities to generate greater efficiency and improved time to market. HCL’s Fluid Workplace Model will enable Airbus to deploy the latest digital technologies and will rapidly simplify Airbus’ existing IT processes and optimization of delivery costs, using unique end-to-end management services to cover the information and operational technology landscape.

The terms of reference of the project, code-named Odesa, an acronym for Offshore Development of Embedded Software for Airbus, in its first phase, will include the migration of the embedded software development environment from an older technology platform to a newer one.

Shares of HCL Technology were trading on BSE at Rs 962 as compared to the previous close of Rs 954.55. The total number of shares traded during the day was 137736 in over 4872 trades. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 973.55 and intraday low of 952.7.
