Google services resume after global outage

Google faced an outage for some users in India and several other countries as most of its services and apps went down. Google Contacts, Docs, Drive, Gmail, YouTube, and were not working, prompting messages of error in India and more countries, including in Europe and the US. YouTube and other services worked fine if you open them in incognito mode.

According to the Google Workspace status dashboard, all of Google’s services faced a blackout so users were unable to access these services. YouTube also faced a major outage for a couple of hours early last month, and it appears that the video streaming platform is again the most hit today’s outage. Upon opening the YouTube homepage, it simply showed ‘something went wrong’ message. YouTube tweeted that the service is indeed facing issues and that it’s been looked at.

“We will provide an update by 14/12/2020 17:42 detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change,” Google said.

Google Docs seemed to have an interruption of services, with users seeing the message, “Google Docs encountered an error. Please try reloading this page, or coming back to it in a few minutes. To learn more about the Google Docs editors, please visit our help centre. We’re sorry for the inconvenience – The Google Docs Team.”

These reports were majorly from Europe, the United States, and India as per DownDetector.
The hashtag #googledown and #YouTubedown have been trending on Twitter since then social media is flooded with memes.
