Flipkart enters the market for home product services and repairs

E-commerce firm Flipkart on Thursday said it had gone into the home goods services area.

On Thursday, e-commerce company Flipkart announced that it had entered the market for home product services by introducing services including appliance installation, maintenance, and repair on its app.

A few months ago, the company launched a pilot for home goods services using the network of its service arm, Jeeves. The pick-up and delivery services, along with the other services, will now be offered at the clients’ doorsteps throughout 19,000 pin codes.

With this, Flipkart will face off against startups like Mr. Right and OnSiteGo as well as unicorn Urban Company.

“At Jeeves, we continuously strive to provide efficient, customer-focused end-to-end after sales services. We are conscious of the challenges customers face to avail reliable after sales services from unorganised and offline service providers and with the launch of home product services on the Flipkart app, customers will now have access to convenient, reliable, and cost-effective after sales services backed by service guarantee for home products,” Flipkart Group’s Jeeves CEO Nipun Sharma said.

Across 400 cities, Jeeves offers more than 300 walk-in service centres, over 1,000 service partners, and around 9,000 certified engineers. PRS PTI HVA
