Facebook India appoints Ex-IAS officer Rajeev Agarwal as the director of Public Policy

Monday Facebook said that it appoint previous Uber executive and ex IAS officer Rajeev Agarwal as a director of public policy.

On Monday Facebook appointed ex IAS officer Rajeev Agarwal as a new public policy director for Facebook India

Rajeev Agarwal succeed and Ankhi Das who quitted the company Last year in October because of the involvement in controversy for opposing the enforcement of hate speech rules against right-wing leaders in the country
Facebook India stated that Rajeev Agarwal will lead and complete and define all the agenda of Facebook that covers user safety data protection and privacy inclusion internet governance
Rajeev Agarwal will be a part of the leadership team and report to Ajit Mohan the vice president and managing director of Facebook India.

Previously Rajiv Aggarwal was with Yuva and he was the head of public policy for India and South Asia he had 26 years of experience as an Indian Administrative officer IAS and worked in 9 districts as a district magistrate across the state of Uttar Pradesh Rajiv Agarwal will help father Facebook mission to build transparency accountability empowered and safe communities which Facebook recognise as their responsibility with all his expertise and experience.

Ajit Mohan stated that they realise that they have deeply emerged in the fabric of India and they have the opportunity to help build a more inclusive and safe internet that benefits everyone in the country he stated that he is thrilled that Rajeev is going to lead their public policy team
