Bajaj Auto announced its sales figures for October 2021 on Monday, November 1. The auto manufacturer saw a decline of 26 per cent in domestic sales for the two-wheeler category, standing at 1,98,738 units sold in October. The company had recorded a domestic sales figure of 2,68,631 vehicles during the corresponding month last year.
The export figure also declined by 5 per cent year-on-year, with export units decreasing to 1,92,565 as compared with 2,01,659 two-wheelers the company had exported in October 2020, Bajaj Auto said in a statement.
On a consolidated basis, the sales figure of Bajaj Auto in the two-wheeler category declined 17 per cent year-on-year. The company recorded a total sales number of 3,91,290 vehicles in October 2021 as compared with the 4,70,290 vehicles it had sold in the same period last year.
Contrary to its performance in the two-wheeler segment, Bajaj Auto fared well in the commercial vehicle category. The Pune-based manufacturer witnessed a 58 per cent hike in the sales of its commercial vehicles, selling 19,827 vehicles in the domestic market during October 2021. It had recorded a domestic sales figure of 12,529 units in October last year.
Meanwhile, the export of commercial vehicles in October 2021 saw a decline of 3 per cent, with Bajaj Auto exporting 28,485 units in the foreign markets last month. It had posed exports of 29,219 units in October 2020. Bajaj Auto’s combined sales of commercial vehicles rose 16 per cent YoY in October, with sales of 48,312 units against 41,748 units.
The consolidated sales of vehicles sold by the manufacturer registered a 14 per cent decline at 4,39,615 units in October. Bajaj Auto had sold a total of 5,12,038 units in the same month last year.
