Amazon employees are requesting CEO Andy Jassy to reconsider a new return-to-work policy as per the report by CNBC.

Beginning May 1, the CEO announced that Amazon would require all staff members will need to spend at least 3 days a week at the office. The CEO and his leadership team called the S-team decided that in-person work would make it easier for employees to collaborate and develop together.

Last, in October 2021, the e-commerce giant’s post-pandemic policy left it up to the managers to determine how often their teams need to be in the office for work. In the past couple of years, the company has used hybrid and fully remote work arrangements until the recent update.

However, the white-collar staff is not comfortable with this update and therefore, have signed a petition addressed to Jassy and the S-team to drop the new policy saying it “runs contrary” to the e-commerce giant’s positions on diversity and inclusion, affordable housing, sustainability and focus on being the “Earth’s Best Employer.”
