Alliance Air to operate first ‘Made in India’ commercial aircraft from today

The aircraft has 17 seats with an AC cabin & is capable of operating in day & night. 

On Tuesday, April 12, the first-ever made in India commercial aircraft will lift off from Assam’s Dibrugarh to Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh.

The aircraft will be operated by Alliance Air. Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will flag off the Dornier 228 passenger aircraft. The aircraft has 17 seats with an AC cabin & is capable of operating in day & night.

“As a part of this scheme, two important developments will take place on 12th April 2022 -First flight of Made in India HAL Dornier Do-228 from Dibrugarh in Assam to Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh. Alliance Air will be India’s first commercial airline to fly Indian made aircraft for civil operations. There will also be the inauguration of First FTO (Flying Training Organization) for North Eastern Region at Lilabari, Assam,” the company said in a statement.

Alliance Air is a government-run company that signed an agreement in February with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for leasing two 17-seater Dornier 228 aircraft.
