
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has allowed the Adani Group to operate, manage and develop the Mangaluru airport. AAI on Saturday tweeted, “Best wishes to Mangaluru Intl Airport on their journey! In accordance to concession agreement executed on 14th Feb’2020, AAI handed over handling of Mangaluru @aaimlrairport to @AdaniOnline on lease for 50 yrs. Exchange of symbolic key held at midnight 00:00 hrs on 30th Oct’2020.”

In the following tweet, a senior official said AAI officials will assist Adani Group for 3 months, and AAI employees and support team will be with the group for 3 years.
The handing over of the Mangaluru Airport to Adani Group was conducted by V.V. Rao, APD, Mangaluru Airport to Ashutosh Chandra, CEO, Adani Mangaluru Intl Airport, and Behnad Zandi, CEO, Adani Airports.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on October 21, as per the provision of airport services like customs, immigration, plant and animal quarantine, and security.
Airports of Mangalore, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow are now in a public-private partnership, and the deal was signed on the 14th of February, 2020.
AAI has also signed communication, navigation, and surveillance-air traffic management agreements with the merchandiser for the provision of CNS-ATM services at three airports.
