Zepto is set to expand its offerings with the launch of a standalone app for its food delivery service, Zepto Café, next week. Aadit Palicha, the co-founder and CEO of Zepto, shared the news on LinkedIn, highlighting the platform’s rapid growth trajectory.
CEO’s Announcement
In his Linkedin post, Palicha stated:
“We’re launching a separate app for Zepto Café next week! The team is shipping an MVP and iterating quickly, so it may not be perfect on Day 1, but it’s worth it to launch fast. Zepto Café is scaling rapidly: we’re launching 100+ Cafés a month and already clocking 30K+ orders/day.”
Expansion and Offerings
Until now, Zepto Café was integrated into the main Zepto app, offering a range of food and beverage items, including coffees, juices, snacks, and meals. The move to a dedicated app comes as Zepto Café experiences exponential growth, reportedly processing over 30,000 orders per day and launching more than 100 cafes monthly.
Market Context
This development comes as competitors like Swiggy expand into the 10-minute food delivery space with initiatives like Bolt. Swiggy’s Bolt, catering to quick-prep food items such as snacks and beverages, has already scaled to over 400 cities and towns across India.
Zepto Café is yet to reveal the cities where the standalone app will be operational or the specific delivery timelines it will follow.
