Tech Mahindra, an Indian IT service provider, collaborates with Rakuten Mobile, a mobile communications firm in Japan, to form Rakuten Communications platforms for global customers. Tech Mahindra will be a preferred partner for RCP. It’ll have to provide the latest technology, software capabilities, managed IT, and network services to support the development of mobile networks for customers of RCP.
Tech Mahindra sold its investment in Delaware-based Altiostar for $45 million to Rakutan Mobile. CP Gurnani, CEO of Tech Mahindra, said that the innovation to accelerate 5G facilitation can be brought to India through this partnership. He added that he is not in a position to disclose who the other partners are.
With Rakuten’s partnership, Tech Mahindra will be able to implement the 5G infrastructure. This will help the industries transition eventually. RCP allows companies to build a secure mobile network at a fast pace and a very low cost. These companies will be able to save 30% of operating expenses if they use RCP instead of the obsolete and traditional networks.
