Adani Group founded by Gautam Adani in 1988 is an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It was initially established as a commodity trading business, with the flagship company Adani Enterprises Limited (previously Adani Exports Limited). In the recent years, the Group has diversified businesses to include energy, logistics, agribusiness, real estate, defence and aerospace.
Here is a list of the subsidiary companies of the Adani Group that is listed on Indian Stock Exchanges i.e. the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE Ltd.:-
- Adani Enterprises Limited – Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) is the flagship entity of Adani Group. It is an incubator focusing on establishing diverse new businesses. Till date 5 of the companies in the field of resources and infrastructure have been demerged from the entity. It has a market capitalization of $2 billion.
- Adani Ports & SEZ Limited – Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) is currently the largest private port operator in the country. The company’s operations include Port management, logistics and the special economic zone. The company operates ports like Mundra, Dahej, and Hazira in Gujarat among others. It has a market capitalization of $6.88 billion.
- Adani Power Limited – Adani Power Limited (APL) had recently overtook Tata Power to become India’s largest power producer. The company’s thermal power plant at Mundra in Gujarat is the India’s first coal-fired plant to receive carbon credits from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
- Adani Transmission Limited – Adani Transmission Limited (ATL) is one of the largest power transmission company in India with power transmission length of 14000 CKm and transformation capacity of more than 23000 MVA. It distributes electricity in 9 states and has also undertaken operations of Reliance Power.
- Adani Green Energy Limited – Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is the one of the largest pure-play renewable power producer in India with portfolio of solar and wind assets of 2500 MW operational capacity. It is planning to develop a renewable portfolio of 25 GW by 2025 which includes wind power, solar power, and hybrid power projects.
- Adani Gas Limited – Adani Gas Limited (AGL) serves as a City Gas Distribution (CGD) to both industrial and residential customers in Gujarat. It has recently entered into a partnership with Snam, Europe’s leading gas infrastructure company on energy mix transition.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group holds the position of the 2nd richest man in India after Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries. The company recently acquired Mumbai Airport (MIAL) as part of its aviation business.
