India targets 8 key Pakistani military bases in precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, confirms Colonel Sofiya Qureshi

In a powerful response to Pakistan’s unprovoked aggression along the Line of Control (LoC) and international border, the Indian Armed Forces launched precision strikes on eight major Pakistani military installations as part of Operation Sindoor, a counter-terror mission aimed at dismantling hostile infrastructure.

Speaking at a joint press briefing by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed that Indian fighter aircraft executed air-launched precision attacks targeting technical installations, command and control centres, radar sites, and ammunition stores inside Pakistan.

The following eight military targets were specifically mentioned by Colonel Qureshi:

  1. Rafiqui Air Base

  2. Murid Air Base

  3. Chaklala Air Base

  4. Rahim Yar Khan Facility

  5. Sukkur Military Base

  6. Chunian Base

  7. Radar site at Pasrur

  8. Aviation base in Sialkot

“These were carefully selected to avoid civilian areas and cause minimal collateral damage,” said Colonel Qureshi, adding that the retaliatory strikes were proportional and focused solely on military infrastructure.

The strikes were conducted after Pakistan continued to target civilian populations and infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and residential areas, across Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, resulting in numerous civilian casualties.

India reiterated that while it does not seek escalation, it will continue to defend its sovereignty and respond decisively to any hostile action.
