EaseMyTrip, a prominent online travel-tech platform in India, has entered into a strategic collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation () and to formalise India’s burgeoning spiritual services economy. This initiative, announced on April 1, 2026, aims to create a structured entrepreneurship model at the Panchayat level, dubbed ‘1 Panchayat – 1 Pandit – SANATANAI Shop on Wheels by EMT.’

The initiative is designed to empower Pandits, Pujaris, and Sanskrit-trained youth to become certified micro-entrepreneurs. It combines structured training, standardised service delivery, and access to institutional financing to support these individuals. Central to the model is a mobile, EV-based ‘Shop on Wheels’ unit, which will serve as a localised hub for spiritual services and commerce.

Each unit will offer a comprehensive suite of services, including pooja bookings, pooja samagri access, religious travel planning, virtual darshan experiences, and facilitation of spiritual events such as kathas and jagrans. The initiative plans to deploy across up to 2 lakh Panchayats over five years, creating a vast network of service providers and enhancing access to spiritual and cultural services in rural and semi-urban areas.

EaseMyTrip will integrate its religious and pilgrimage travel services into this ecosystem, leveraging its travel distribution capabilities to expand its reach through a decentralised, franchise-led network. This move aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the religious tourism sector and enhance accessibility in rural markets.

Nishant Pitti, Founder and Chairman of , commented on the initiative, stating: ‘This initiative is focused on building a structured and scalable ecosystem that brings together skill development, service standardisation, and access to markets. By integrating travel services within this framework, EaseMyTrip aims to strengthen service accessibility while supporting the transition of traditional service providers into a more formalised economic system.’

A significant aspect of the initiative is the establishment of a candidate pipeline through institutional training frameworks. This will facilitate mobilisation, training, certification, and onboarding into the entrepreneurship model. The initiative is aligned with national priorities around skill development, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurship generation, and will be supported by a MUDRA-linked financing framework, enabling eligible participants to access funding for their units.

For EaseMyTrip, this collaboration represents a strategic expansion into the spiritual and religious tourism segment, bolstered by institutional partnerships, and aims to strengthen the company’s reach across rural and semi-urban markets.
