
Welspun Michigan Engineers Limited (WMEL), a material subsidiary of Welspun Enterprises Limited (WEL), has been awarded a significant work order worth ₹79.29 crore (excluding GST) by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) for rehabilitating a major drainage line in Gujarat’s West Zone.
The project involves rehabilitation of an existing 1,800mm diameter drainage line stretching from Shrenik Park Circle to Akota-Dandiya Bazar Bridge Junction to Atladara STP, and is scheduled to be executed over 12 months starting April 2, 2025, excluding monsoon delays.
This new contract takes WMEL’s outstanding order book to ₹2,994.71 crore, up from ₹2,915.42 crore as of March 25, 2025. The order book includes ₹2,756.81 crore in EPC contracts and ₹237.90 crore in O&M contracts.
Sandeep Garg, Managing Director of Welspun Enterprises, stated that this marks a strategic entry for WMEL into a new market. “This achievement underscores WMEL’s expertise in urban infrastructure and commitment to sustainability by rejuvenating existing assets while reducing energy use and public disruption,” he said.
The contract also reflects WMEL’s growing presence in urban infrastructure through trenchless technology, enabling efficient execution with minimal environmental impact and disruption to daily life.
