UltraTech Cement expands capacity with new 0.6 MTPA grinding unit in West Bengal

With the new capacity, UltraTech Cement’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at an impressive 166.31 MTPA. In addition, the company holds an overseas capacity of 5.4 MTPA, bringing its global cement manufacturing capacity to a total of 171.71 MTPA.

UltraTech Cement Limited has announced the commissioning of a new 0.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) grinding capacity at its existing unit in Sonar Bangla, West Bengal. This strategic addition is aimed at catering to the growing demand for composite cement in the Eastern region of India, while also boosting the company’s blended cement ratio.

With the new capacity, UltraTech Cement’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at an impressive 166.31 MTPA. In addition, the company holds an overseas capacity of 5.4 MTPA, bringing its global cement manufacturing capacity to a total of 171.71 MTPA.

The expanded capacity positions UltraTech to meet regional cement demands more efficiently, contributing to the overall growth of the company and its dominance in the cement industry.

This milestone highlights UltraTech Cement’s continued focus on enhancing its production capabilities to support the construction industry’s expansion across India and abroad. In FY24, the company expanded its cement production capacity by 13.81 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), and up to June 2024, it added an additional 8.7 MTPA capacity.
