TVS Motor Company announced its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2024, recording 482,495 units sold, marking a 20% growth from 402,553 units in September 2023. The company also achieved a milestone in electric vehicle (EV) sales, which surged by 42% to 28,901 units, compared to 20,356 units last year.
Key Highlights:
- Two-Wheeler Sales: Grew by 22% from 386,955 units in September 2023 to 471,792 units in September 2024. Domestic sales rose by 23% to 369,138 units.
- Motorcycles: Sales increased by 23%, from 186,438 units to 229,268 units.
- Scooters: Achieved 20% growth, reaching 186,751 units sold.
- Electric Vehicle Sales: EV sales recorded a 42% jump, from 20,356 units in September 2023 to 28,901 units in September 2024.
- Exports: Total exports grew by 11%, from 100,294 units to 111,007 units. Two-wheeler exports increased by 19%.
- Three-Wheeler Sales: Registered 10,703 units, down from 15,598 units in September 2023.
Second Quarter Performance (FY 2024-25):
- Two-Wheelers: Saw a 15% rise, with sales reaching 11.90 lakh units, up from 10.31 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous fiscal year.
- Three-Wheelers: Registered 0.38 lakh units compared to 0.43 lakh units in the same period last year.
- Exports: Grew by 11%, totaling 3.09 lakh units, compared to 2.77 lakh units in the previous year’s second quarter.
TVS Motor’s significant growth in EV sales highlights its increasing presence in the electric vehicle market, complementing the strong performance of its two-wheeler segment.
