TCS partners with Brazil’s Insper, investing R$50Mn to drive innovation in South America

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a 10-year strategic partnership with Insper, a premier Brazilian education and research institution, investing R$50 million to boost innovation across South America. The collaboration is set to leverage advanced technologies, including AI, GenAI, IoT, and spatial computing, to develop cutting-edge solutions for various industries such as banking, energy, manufacturing, and healthcare.

This partnership will enable TCS and Insper to engage in academic research, develop technology prototypes, and host industry events such as seminars and hackathons. Key research initiatives under the partnership include satellite-based geo-sensing to optimize crop yields, minimizing offshore oil rig downtime, and accelerating drug development through AI. TCS will utilize its TCS Pace™ methodology to bring these innovations to scale, offering exclusive access to its research for clients across South America.

Bruno Rocha, TCS Brazil’s Country Head, highlighted that the collaboration aims to bridge market needs with academic expertise, creating a unique space for clients to engage in transformative projects. Additionally, Insper’s expertise in engineering and business will enhance TCS’s capacity to address real-time business challenges in Brazil.

This collaboration underscores TCS’s expanding footprint in Brazil, where it has been active for over two decades. Recently, TCS opened a new delivery center in Londrina, Paraná, aiming to create over 1,600 jobs in the next five years. Serving over 140 clients in Brazil across sectors, TCS has been recognized as a Top Employer in Brazil for 10 years and received the diversity seal from São Paulo state in 2022.
