Sterling Tools Limited (BSE: 530759, NSE: STERTOOLS), a leader in automotive fasteners in India, has entered the energy sector through its subsidiary, Sterling Tech-Mobility Limited. The company has partnered with Zhejiang Meishuo Electric Technology Co., Ltd. (China) to locally manufacture advanced latching relays for various applications, including energy, industrial grids, and smart metering systems.
These relays play a key role in reducing power consumption and extending the lifespan of components in industrial and white goods applications. Their latch mechanism allows for remote power connection and disconnection, helping minimize energy usage during operation.
The partnership is set to generate Rs. 200 crores in business by FY30, with Sterling Tools investing Rs. 20 crore in a new Bengaluru facility to produce the relays locally. This move aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and the Make in India initiative, driving import substitution and promoting a self-reliant industrial ecosystem.
By manufacturing these innovative components domestically, Sterling Tools is empowering Indian industries and creating access to advanced technology within the country, contributing to the growth of the energy sector and beyond.
Anish Agarwal, Director, Sterling Tools Limited, stated, “This partnership takes a significant step toward localizing the production of latching relays. We are expanding beyond our automotive roots to meet India’s growing demand for advanced technology in the energy sector. By reducing reliance on imports, we will drive innovation and enhance efficiency. This initiative reinforces our commitment to the Make in India vision and directly supports our strategy to deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customers.”
