Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) have joined forces to enhance cargo movement at Visakhapatnam Port. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to construct internal flyovers, addressing critical infrastructure challenges.
The project aims to eliminate 11 level crossings that currently obstruct traffic flow within the port area. By ensuring smoother cargo evacuation, the initiative is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency and reduce congestion.
This collaboration underscores the commitment of RVNL and VPA to modernize port infrastructure, supporting India’s growing trade and logistics sector.
In the exchange filing, the company shared, “Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) have executed Memorandum of understanding (MOU) for “Construction of internal flyovers to enhance the smooth evacuation of cargo and eliminate the eleven (11) level crossings that currently hindering the free flow of traffic at VPA.”
