KPIT Technologies Limited has announced that Qualcomm Ventures LLC has joined Qorix GmbH as a strategic minority shareholder, alongside existing shareholders KPIT and ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Qualcomm has the option to increase its investment up to €10 million, further strengthening the joint venture’s position in the middleware solutions space for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
Qorix GmbH was established as a joint venture between KPIT and ZF with a 50:50 ownership structure, focusing on the development of high-performance and scalable middleware solutions for the automotive industry. The investment by Qualcomm aims to accelerate the industry’s transition to SDV architecture, enabling OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to develop next-generation vehicles more efficiently.
As part of the agreement, Qualcomm will gain a seat on the Advisory Board of Qorix GmbH, allowing it to contribute to the strategic direction of the company. The infusion of funds will help advance Qorix’s mission of delivering pre-integrated middleware stacks designed to enhance vehicle software development.
KPIT has clarified that this investment does not fall under related party transactions, and none of its promoters or directors have any financial interest in Qorix GmbH. The agreement is expected to drive innovation in automotive middleware solutions and position Qorix GmbH as a major player in the global automotive software market.
