
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder for two key Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model. These projects will enhance power transmission infrastructure in Karnataka and Rajasthan.
Project 1: Integration of Davanagere / Chitradurga and Bellary REZ in Karnataka
This project includes the establishment of a 765/400/220kV Pooling Substation near Davanagere/Chitradurga and a 400/220kV Pooling Substation near Bellary. It also involves constructing 765kV & 400kV D/C transmission lines and upgrading existing substations and transmission lines.
Project 2: Augmentation at Fatehgarh-II PS, Fatehgarh-IV PS (Section-II), and Barmer-I PS
This project focuses on ICT augmentation at operational and under-construction substations in Rajasthan, strengthening the region’s transmission capabilities.
POWERGRID received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on February 17, 2025, marking a significant step toward enhancing India’s renewable energy integration and transmission efficiency.
Power Grid Corporation Q3 FY25 results
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 31, 2024 (Q3 FY25), demonstrating consistent profitability despite a slight decline in revenue. The company’s revenue from operations for Q3 FY25 was Rs 11,233 crore, reflecting a 2.7% decrease compared to Rs 11,549 crore in the same period last year (Q3 FY24). However, PGCIL’s net profit showed a positive trajectory, rising by 1.8% to Rs 3,861 crore, up from Rs 3,793 crore in Q3 FY24. This growth in profit was largely attributed to effective cost management and strong operational performance. Additionally, the total income for the quarter stood at Rs 11,743 crore, marking a slight decline of 0.6% year-on-year.
