Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for three major inter-state transmission system projects under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model. The company received the official Letter of Intent (LoI) for these projects on March 3, 2025.

Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase-V (Part-1: 4 GW)
- This project involves augmenting transformation capacity at the under-construction Sirohi substation in Rajasthan.
- It also includes 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines traversing Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Augmentation of Transformation Capacity at Banaskantha (Raghanesda) Power Station (GIS)
- This involves ICT augmentation works at the existing Banaskantha (Raghanesda) GIS power station in Gujarat.

Transmission System for Integration of Kurnool-IV REZ – Phase-I (4.5 GW)
- Establishment of a new 765/400/220 kV Kurnool IV Pooling Substation in Andhra Pradesh.
- Augmentation of transformation capacity at the existing C’peta Substation in Andhra Pradesh.
- Development of 765 kV and 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines covering Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The latest contract wins further strengthen POWERGRID’s position as a key player in India’s transmission infrastructure sector, supporting the country’s push for renewable energy integration.
