Power Grid commissions 85 MW solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh via subsidiary

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the commencement of commercial operations of its 85 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant located in Nagda, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, effective April 24, 2025.

The solar facility has been established by POWERGRID Energy Services Limited (PESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. This marks another key milestone in Power Grid’s transition towards expanding its renewable energy footprint in India.

In a regulatory filing with NSE and BSE, the company stated that the project has been successfully commissioned in line with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) guidelines.

This operational launch adds to Power Grid’s growing portfolio of clean energy initiatives and supports India’s larger goal of scaling up solar power capacity as part of its energy transition roadmap.
