NRB Bearings Limited board has announced a ₹200 crore capacity expansion plan. This move is aimed at supporting its growing business pipeline, valued at ₹600 crore, from major European Tier 1 automotive customers.
The expansion will cater to the needs of OEMs such as BMW, Stellantis, and Renault, across their next-generation vehicle platforms, including electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, and internal combustion engine (ICE) models. NRB Bearings has been nominated by customers like Magna and others for various advanced programs linked to these OEMs’ upcoming vehicle lines.
The ₹200 crore investment, planned over the next two years, will focus on expanding manufacturing capabilities and research and development (R&D). The company will enhance capacities for Cylindrical Roller Bearings, Needle Roller Bearings, Thrust and Combination Bearings, and Taper Roller Bearings. The investment also includes upgrades in heat treatment facilities, infrastructure development, and downstream integration to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
In addition to supporting ICE and hybrid platforms, NRB Bearings is strengthening its position in the electric vehicle segment. The company has secured additional lifetime business worth ₹12 crore for next-generation E-Drive platforms of premium electric vehicles from BMW, Stellantis, Renault, and Mercedes-Benz. This is in addition to its existing ₹400 crore worth of nominated business for these platforms, with supply commitments extending through 2030.
The strategic expansion aims to reinforce NRB Bearings’ role as a key supplier of high-precision bearing solutions to major European automotive manufacturers across multiple vehicle technologies.
