Ministry Of Heavy Industry awards 10 GWh capacity to Reliance Industries under PLI ACC scheme

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Government of India, has announced the selected bidder for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage.

Based on the QCBS mechanism, Reliance Industries Limited has been granted 10 GWh ACC capacity under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. This effort is another step toward increasing domestic manufacturing capacity, decreasing import dependency and establishing India as a worldwide leader in ACC battery manufacture.

MHI got bids from seven bidders under the global tender for the bidding of Production Linked Incentives (PLI) for 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacture with a maximum budgetary spending of Rs.3,620 crores, which was announced on January 24, 2024.

ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited, Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited, Anvi Power Industries Private Limited, JSW Neo Energy Limited, Lucas TVS Limited, Reliance Industries Limited, and Waaree Energies Limited were the bidders who submitted bids for this tender, capacity of 70 GWh.

The Quality & Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method was used to conduct the final evaluation of the shortlisted bidders and the bidders were ranked according to the scores of their technical and financial ratings. Reliance Industries received the highest overall score and won the bid. The other shortlisted bidders, ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Ltd (#1), Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Ltd (#2), Waaree Energies Ltd (#3), JSW Neo Energy Ltd ( #4) and Lucas TVS Ltd (#5), were placed on a waiting list.
