JSW Steel achieves highest-ever quarterly crude steel production at 7.03 million tonnes

JSW Steel has reported its highest-ever quarterly consolidated crude steel production of 7.03 million tonnes for Q3 FY25, marking a 4% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth and a 2% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

  • Indian Operations: The company recorded its highest crude steel production at 6.82 million tonnes, a 3% growth both QoQ and YoY. Capacity utilization for Indian operations stood at 91%, despite maintenance activities at the Dolvi plant in October, which resumed normal operations in November.
  • Global Operations: Production at the JSW Steel USA – Ohio plant was recorded at 0.21 million tonnes, lower than 0.24 million tonnes in Q3 FY24 but higher than the previous quarter’s 0.14 million tonnes.
  • Capacity Expansion: The Vijayanagar plant’s capacity is being ramped up, with production expected to reach 17.5 MTPA once the integrated steel facility is fully operational in Q4 FY25.

Production for 9M FY25:

  • Consolidated production for the nine months ended December 31, 2024, was 20.16 million tonnes, up from 19.63 million tonnes in the same period last year.
