IRCON bags Rs 1,096 crore contract for New Secretariat Complex in Shillong

IRCON International Ltd has secured a ₹1,096 crore contract for the construction of the New Secretariat Complex in Shillong, Meghalaya. The contract has been awarded by the Directorate of Urban Affairs, Government of Meghalaya on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis.

The project, which is being undertaken in a joint venture with Badri Rai and Company (BRC), will see IRCON holding a 26% stake in the contract, amounting to approximately ₹285 crore of the total project value. The construction is expected to be completed within 36 months.

The New Secretariat Complex in Shillong is envisioned to be a modern administrative hub, facilitating improved governance and public administration in Meghalaya. The scope of the project includes:

  • Design and construction of state-of-the-art office buildings.
  • Infrastructure development including roads, utilities, and landscaping.
  • Sustainability measures such as energy-efficient building designs.

This contract further strengthens IRCON’s portfolio in the infrastructure sector, reinforcing its expertise in executing large-scale government projects. The company has a strong track record in infrastructure development, particularly in railway projects, highways, and public buildings.
