Exicom Tele-Systems Limited has announced that it is backing Charger on Wheels, a mobile EV charging startup, to scale the concept of “EV Charging on Wheels” in India. The initiative marks an important step in expanding the country’s EV charging infrastructure by addressing grid readiness issues in urban areas.
According to Exicom, this collaboration will enable Charger on Wheels to expand its mobile charging fleet and strengthen its technology platform. The startup has already partnered with leading developers for residential charging via mobile vans, especially in areas where fire safety norms restrict basement chargers.
Anant Nahata, MD & CEO of Exicom, said that seamless charging infrastructure is key to EV adoption, and mobile EV charging offers a “Capex-light solution” to fill gaps where fixed chargers cannot be deployed.
This partnership builds on Exicom’s earlier collaborations with Hubject, Ionage, and Mufin Green Infra to boost interoperability, charger management, and turnkey solutions. With a presence across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the US, Exicom has already deployed over 1,33,000 chargers worldwide.
