Dabur India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to establish a new consumer goods manufacturing facility in the state. This will be Dabur’s first manufacturing unit in South India.
The initial investment for the facility is Rs 135 crore, with plans to increase the investment to Rs 400 crore over the next five years. The new facility is expected to create around 250 direct jobs and several thousand indirect job opportunities.
The MoU was signed on August 22, 2024, at the Secretariat in Chennai. The event saw the participation of key officials including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, and Dabur India Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mohit Malhotra.
The new facility will be located in SIPCOT Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu, and will be one of Dabur’s most modern and environment-friendly manufacturing units. It will produce a range of Dabur products to cater to the South Indian market.
Mr. Mohit Malhotra expressed gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government for its support, emphasizing that the new facility will help meet the growing demand for Dabur’s products in South India while contributing to the state’s economic development through job creation and collaboration with local vendors. The strategic location of the facility will also enhance Dabur’s operational efficiency and growth prospects in the region.
We are grateful to the Government of Tamil Nadu, particularly the Department of Industries led by Hon’ble Minister Dr TRB Rajaa for his personal and proactive support and guidance, teams in Guidance Tamil Nadu, and SIPCOT, for their wholehearted support in facilitating this project. This investment will allow us to better serve the growing demand for our products in South India and strengthen our market presence in the region. We look forward to contributing to Tamil Nadu’s economic development by creating jobs and working closely with local vendors and supplier partners.
