Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited (NSE: CROMPTON), a leader in the consumer electricals segment, has announced plans to expand its ceiling fan manufacturing capacity at its Baddi plant in Himachal Pradesh. The initiative aims to increase production capacity by an additional 20 lakh units per annum, complementing the existing capacity of 40 lakh units.
This expansion, with an investment of ₹3 crore, will be financed through internal accruals and executed in a phased manner, targeting completion by March 2025. The current capacity utilization stands at 30 lakh fans annually, and the proposed addition is expected to enhance the company’s ability to meet growing demand while maintaining product quality.
Crompton Greaves has upgraded its infrastructure and invested in backward integration, incorporating fully automated stator winding and varnishing technologies. These advancements are intended to deliver premium-quality products and reinforce the company’s position as an industry leader.
The expansion is part of the company’s strategy to cater to increasing market demand and strengthen its foothold in the ceiling fan segment, ensuring operational efficiency and product excellence.
