BHEL bags LOI worth Rs 6,700 crore from SCCL for Singareni Stage-II project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a prestigious Letter of Intent (LOI) from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) package of the 1×800 MW Singareni Thermal Power Project, Stage II. This massive project will be executed in Mancherial district, Telangana, further strengthening BHEL’s position as a leader in India’s power infrastructure sector.

The contract, valued at approximately ₹6,700 crore (excluding taxes and duties), involves the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of critical components, including the Boiler, Turbine, Generator, and Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system, along with associated electrical, control & instrumentation (C&I), and Balance of Plant (BoP) packages. Additionally, the scope of work includes essential civil construction activities.

This domestic competitive bidding project is set to be completed within 48 months, marking another milestone in BHEL’s commitment to delivering high-efficiency power solutions.

In the meantime, on February 11, the company secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) worth Rs 6,200 crore from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for the Steam Generator Island Package of the 2×660 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II project. Located in Purulia, West Bengal, the project involves supplying, erecting, testing, and commissioning Steam Generators and auxiliaries, including Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP), Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) systems, Ash Handling systems, electrical and control instrumentation (C&I), and related civil works. The execution timeline is set at 48 months for the first unit and 52 months for the second.
