Bharat Forge arm signs MOU with L3Harris to enhance India’s tactical defense solutions

Bharat Forge’s subsidiary, Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), has entered a key collaboration with L3Harris Technologies by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at supporting advanced defense and security solutions in India. The agreement will focus on Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) technologies.

Under the two-year agreement, both parties will jointly provide solutions, leveraging L3Harris’ expertise in tactical communications and KSSL’s local capabilities. L3Harris, known for its extensive global footprint with over 1 million deployed field radios, seeks to accelerate the delivery of tactical radio solutions and equipment to the Indian Armed Forces.

The collaboration aligns with India’s broader defense initiatives, focusing on future strategic requirements such as integrated ISR capabilities and emerging warfare paradigms. The partnership is expected to foster local supply chains and expand production outside India to cater to global commitments.

L3Harris, with over 21 years of operations in India, has provided key infrastructure and defense equipment, including tactical radios and optical systems. KSSL, a pioneer in the Indian defense sector, has been integral to indigenous weapons development, artillery systems, and high-tech mobility solutions.

This strategic partnership aims to contribute to India’s defense self-reliance and strengthen bilateral industrial cooperation in the sector.
