Ashok Leyland secures Rs 297.85 crore order for 320 BS VI buses from Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation

Ashok Leyland has announced that it has received an order from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) for supplying 320 BS VI Diesel Fuel Type 12M Low Floor Fully Built Buses. This order, worth approximately ₹297.85 crore, was awarded after a standard tender process, and the buses will feature advanced iGen 6 BS VI technology along with a robust H-Series engine rated at 184 kW (246 hp), equipped with both front and rear air suspension. The buses are intended for city operations and will be delivered between June and August 2025.

The deal marks a significant step for Ashok Leyland as it continues to cater to the growing demand for modern, environmentally-friendly public transport solutions in India. The buses will be built with ultra-low entry rear engines, ensuring high efficiency and sustainability.

The company confirmed that there were no adverse terms under the contract, and the project will be executed in a joint venture, with Ashok Leyland holding a 51% share.
