ABB India partners with IIT Bombay to set up cutting-edge energy-efficient training lab

ABB India has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) to establish a cutting-edge electrical machines and drives laboratory at the Department of Energy Science and Engineering. This state-of-the-art lab is designed to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students with hands-on training, utilizing energy-efficient, industrial-grade equipment to prepare them for future roles in the energy and industrial sectors.

The laboratory will feature advanced technologies like variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and energy-efficient, mechanically coupled electrical machine sets. These setups will emulate real-world industrial applications, such as wind turbine generators and electric vehicle drivetrains, giving students comprehensive exposure to modern energy systems.
