
On February 16 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in the capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Aadi Mahotsav, a national tribal celebration. On February 27, the festival will come to an end.
In more than 200 stalls at the location, the event will highlight the rich and varied heritage of tribes from all around the nation.
The Mahotsav will feature some 1,000 tribal artisans, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) remarked that Prime Minister Modi has been at the forefront of taking action for the welfare of the tribal population in recognition of their commitment to the growth and development of the nation.
According to a PMO announcement, the Mahotsav will place a special emphasis on presenting Shree Anna grown by tribal people in addition to the typical attractions like handicrafts, handloom, ceramics, jewellery, etc. 2023 is being observed as the International Year of Millets.
An annual project of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Aadi Mahotsav honours the spirit of tribal culture, crafts, gastronomy, trade, and traditional art.
