After announcing this, the company becomes first automaker in the world to accept Bitcoin as payment. He also tweeted, “Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly and Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency.”

Musk also added that payment through Bitcoin will be available outside the United States by the end of 2021.

In February 2021, company revealed that Tesla has bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin and it would start accepting the Bitcoin as payment very soon. In a filing with the United States’ Securities and Exchange Commission, the company told that it had purchased the bitcoin for “more flexibility to further diversify and maximize returns on our cash.”

Last Month, Elon Musk also criticized conventional cash, saying when it “has negative real interest, only a fool wouldn’t look elsewhere.”

Earlier this month, the Chinese military has banned Tesla Cars from entering its housing complex, citing security concerns over the use of cameras installed on the top of vehicle and inside the vehicle. As they stated “there is chance of misuse of data and may be used to stole confidential military data.”
