Telangana’s Mahindra & Mahindra manufacturing facility will grow

According to a statement from the state government, the MoU was signed alongside the introduction of Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV), “India’s first new mobility-focused cluster,” at the inaugural Mobility Next Hyderabad Summit.

The Telangana government and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. signed an MoU on Thursday to create a manufacturing facility for the latter’s “Last Mile Mobility business,” which will include the creation and production of electric three- and four-wheelers.

According to a statement from the state government, the MoU was signed alongside the unveiling of Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV), India’s first new mobility-focused cluster, during the inaugural Mobility Next Hyderabad Summit.

The cutting-edge facility from M&M and its group companies (the “Mahindra Group”) is an expansion of their current factory in Zaheerabad and involves an investment of roughly Rs 1,000 crore, according to the company. It is expected to employ between 800 and 1,000 people.

According to the company, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited will work with the Telangana government to build a development plan for manufacturing facilities for energy storage systems and electric vehicles in the State.

K T Rama Rao, the minister of industries for Telangana, expressed his appreciation for M&M’s investment “The Telangana Mobility Valley’s objective to further accelerate the growth of sustainable mobility in India will be considerably advanced by the proposed facility by M&M. M&M will have access to the cutting-edge infrastructure that the State intends to build in the mega clusters thanks to its location in Zaheerabad, one of the 4 Mega EV manufacturing clusters that are being established by the State.” Mahindra & Mahindra’s Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director (Auto & Farm), congratulated the Telangana government for their long-standing relationship.

“We are delighted to consider expansion of the current manufacturing unit at Zaheerabad for our new EV Manufacturing investment. This investment will help continue our leadership position in electric 3-Wheeler category,” he said, according to the press release.
