Tata Nexon EV achieves 2200 sales milestone, emerges as the best-selling electric car

Today, Tata Motors announced that Nexon EV has crossed 2,000 sales milestone in the country.

It has been 10 months since the launch of the car and the sales of the Nexon EV has reached 2,200 units as of last month indicating the rapid demand for electric vehicles in the personal car segment, Tata Motors said in a statement.

They manufactured the 1000th Nexon EV in August this year, the compact SUV achieved 1,000 sales units in a record time of three months.

The Nexon EV has emerged as the best-selling electric car in the country, stated the company. Tata Motors is leading the EV segment with a 74 percent market share.

Tata Motors President of Passenger Vehicle Business Unit Shailesh Chandra said, “The Nexon EV, since the launch, has captured imagination of the entire nation and has consistently led way for the electric vehicle segment.”

Nexon EV offers connected drive experience with zero emissions and all of this at an attractive pricing, it has found widespread acceptance among its customers.

“This growing demand is on the back of increased awareness, growing charging infrastructure, encouraging government incentives, breaking myths that surround EVs, and most importantly the undisputed benefits that it offers i.e. lower operating cost,” Shailesh Chandra commented.

“The continued support from the government in terms of incentives such as benefits on registration and road tax, the company hopes that EVs will soon become the most desirable and a mainstream choice for the customers in India,” he explained.
