MG Astor price hikes ahead of festive season, competitors to match up soon

MG Motors has hiked the price of Astor, its premium mid-size SUV, and its competitors Creta and Seltos also trying to match up to the new price hikes.

With a festive season, just a few days away, MG Motor India raised the cost of the Astor mid-size SUV. The Creta and Seltos competitors will now charge an additional Rs 10,000 over its previous price list, which is valid for the whole variation lineup, over its total outgoing price.

The Style EX 1.5 MT variation of the MG Astor currently has a starting price of Rs. 10.32 lakh, while the Savvy 1.3 Turbo AT S Red variant has a starting price of Rs. 18.23 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Currently, five variations of the models are available in the market which are smart, savvy and up-to-date with all the latest features.

The Astor is built on the popular ZS worldwide platform from MG and offers two engine options: the Brit Dynamic 220 TURBO petrol engine with a six-speed AT (automatic) and 110ps of power, and the VTi Tech petrol engine with a manual gearbox and an eight-speed CVT. With an engine capacity of 1500 cc, this car is a beast on road with impeccable safety features such as multiple speed monitoring systems which includes beeps for the river as the car crosses 80 kmph and multiple beeps as the car crosses 120 kmph. The car is a also fitted with 2 or 4 airbags depending on the model which is being bought. The basic 3-3-3 package that comes with the car comprises a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free periodic maintenance visits.

Besides these, the company is all set to launch the next generation Hector which is a high-end car and multiple new features which would shock all its customers.
