The index, which opened at 39,078.66 JPY, fluctuated from 38,590.96 JPY to 39,192.51 JPY before closing the session.<\/p>\n<p>Despite today\u2019s upward movement, Nikkei remains down 1.21% over the past five days and 3.79% lower over the past month. The index has also declined 2.87% year-to-date, although it remains 6.53% higher compared to last year.
