Contributing to the nation\u2019s major construction initiatives and the Workers\u2019 Party of Korea\u2019s policy of regional industrial development, scientists from the State Academy of Sciences in the Democratic People\u2019s Republic of Korea (DPRK) have made notable progress in a number of ambitious research tasks.<\/p>\n
One of their main accomplishments is that they have supported the development of the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area, built 50,000 houses in the capital city, modernized the second stage of the Kumsong Tractor Factory, and made Samjiyon City a premier mountain tourist destination. The larger goal of improving the country\u2019s infrastructure, local economies, and tourism sector is in line with these projects.<\/p>\n
The accomplishment of several significant research projects in the first half of the year has been made possible by the cooperative efforts of the State Academy of Sciences\u2019 many institutes, branches, and units. The smooth exchange of information and resources made possible by this deeper cooperation has sped up the completion of these important projects.<\/p>\n
Following the Workers\u2019 Party of Korea\u2019s policy on the development of regional industries, scientists have concentrated on advancing technical preparation for the processes involved in the production of paper, as well as offering technical advice for the production of necessary equipment, such as water purification systems and wheat grading machines.<\/p>\n
Hundreds of equipment units, such as air purifiers, plastic tanks, and machinery for making soap, have been manufactured under the direction of the academy\u2019s scientists and will be placed in local industry factories.
