A former U.S. Department of Defence officer has offered high praise for Russia\u2019s electronic warfare (EW) capabilities on the battlefield in Ukraine, stating they have been triumphantly jamming advanced Western-supplied weapons systems.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the Russian state media outlet Sputnik, David T. Pyne, an EMP Task Force scholar and ex-Pentagon official, declared that Russia has the most capable electronic warfare systems in the world, with the longest and most powerful GPS and radio frequency of any nation.<\/p>\n
Pyne expressed admiration for the speed at which Russian long-range jammers have been able to adapt to jamming new US and NATO weapon systems introduced into the conflict by Ukraine\u2019s Western allies. He claimed these Russian EW systems have proven effective at causing 90% of guided missile and drone systems supplied by the US to Ukraine to miss their target, most importantly HIMARS [High Mobility Artillery Rocket System].<\/p>\n
