The Indian Coast Guard came to the rescue of 24 tourists and two crew members who found themselves stranded aboard a ferry boat caught in rough seas and facing fuel exhaustion near Goa\u2019s Mormugao harbour on Sunday.<\/p>\n
According to the Coast Guard, the tourist vessel \u201cNerul Paradise\u201d had ventured out to sea but became stranded off the Goan coast after being battered by strong winds and waves over three meters high. With fuel running critically low, the boat was left adrift and facing potential danger.<\/p>\n
The Coast Guardsprung into action after its ship C-148, returning from patrol duties, spotted signs of distress among the passengers aboard the stranded ferry.<\/p>\n
Coast Guard personnel were able to stabilize the precarious situation by providing assistance and reassurance to those aboard the stranded tourist boat. They then safely brought the \u201cNerul Paradise\u201d ferry back to Mormugao harbour, \u201caverting a potential disaster,\u201d according to the maritime agency.<\/p>\n
Upon arriving back at the harbour, all 26 passengers and crew from the rescued boat were provided medical aid by Coast Guard teams as a precautionary measure. There were no reports of injuries.<\/p>\n
The rescue operation highlighted the rapid response capabilities of the Indian Coast Guard in the coastal waters off Goa, a major tourist hotspot. Rough sea conditions during the upcoming monsoon season can frequently imperil smaller recreational and fishing vessels.<\/p>\n
