It definitely sets an example for other universities on how to handle such situations without being aggressive towards your own students, professors, faculty, and staff, which we have seen in other places.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Esperanza Garcia, another protester, stated that school officials are actively debating the demands put forth by the student protesters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s been unique about our situation here is that we started meeting with the negotiators almost since day one. Initially, they were opposed to our demands. We were firm in our stance. We presented our counter demands, and now they are on the table for consideration. This is significant progress, and we are eagerly awaiting their response.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing dialogue between the students and university officials marks a significant step in addressing the concerns raised by the student body.
