Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, claimed that his invasion of Ukraine was driven by worries about NATO expansion, according to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak, however, quickly dismissed Putin\u2019s assertion during a broadcast this morning, calling it \u201cclearly ridiculous\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cRussia conducted an illegal, unprovoked invasion of Ukraine,\u201d declared Sunak firmly. \u201cI\u2019m glad that the UK has supported Ukraine resolutely from the start,\u201d he added. During his visit earlier this year, the Prime Minister demonstrated his commitment to the Ukrainian cause, becoming the first foreign leader to do so in 2024.<\/p>\n
While in the country, Sunak stressed the development of deeper security ties with Ukraine and declared substantial military assistance for the country. This action demonstrated the UK\u2019s commitment to strengthening Ukraine\u2019s defences against Russian aggression.<\/p>\n
