The plane flew over the Chukchi and Bering Seas, which are unclaimed by any nation. The administration emphasised that the flight complies completely with international laws governing airspace usage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To emphasise the routine nature of these manoeuvres, General Kobylash said, \u201cLong-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, and Pacific Ocean.\u201d The Russian Ministry of Defence has often said that these flights do not violate other countries\u2019 airspace and comply with international regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Russia claims that its actions stay inside the boundaries of international airspace, although it regularly conducts military drills close to NATO territory.
