The attacks, resulting in casualties on both sides, raised fears of a regional escalation linked to the Gaza war. However, a swift joint decision by Iran and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions and resume diplomatic ties defused the situation.<\/p>\n
Amid the discussions, the Iranian official also addressed the killing of nine Pakistani labourers by gunmen in Iran\u2019s Sistan-Baluchestan province. The incident, described by Islamabad as \u201chorrifying and despicable,\u201d led to demands for the victims\u2019 bodies to be repatriated.<\/p>\n
