In the past weeks, Israel has been accused of accelerating strikes on senior Iranian and allied figures in Syria and Lebanon \u2013 backers of the militant group of Palestine, Hamas.<\/p>\n
By quoting an informed source the Mehr news agency of Iran asserted, \u201cThe Revolutionary Guard\u2019s Syria intel chief, his deputy, and two other Guards members were martyred in the attack on Syria by Israel.\u201d The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a statement accused Israel, its regional arch-foe, of carrying out strikes and stated that it lost four of its members due to the strikes.<\/p>\n
The Mazzeh neighbourhood, a residential area in Damascus, witnessed the destruction of a significant structure, leaving the local community grappling with the aftermath of the attack. The strike took place during the mid-morning, eventually causing a large cloud of smoke into the sky as reported by the state media of Syria. SANA, the country\u2019s official news agency informed that a residential building in Damascus\u2019 Mazzeh neighbourhood had been earmarked in what it called an \u201cIsraeli aggression\u201d.<\/p>\n
The building that got destroyed was hemmed in with ambulances, Syrian Arab Red Crescent rescue teams, and firefighters said an AFP correspondent at the scene. He also said that the civil defence was busy searching for survivors under the wreckage of the completely collapsed building. The video footage from AFP showed that damaged cars were covered in debris.
